On 1st December two years ago I cycled on some ice and braked going around a corner. Instinct made me brake even though I knew this was a bad idea. I smashed my head on the road and got a cartoon bump. I kinda heard my brain inside my skull. For a while after I had some hot, metallic, electric sensations on the left side of my brain.
VFH stands for Voltaic Foil Head. I feel this describes it well.
It felt like electricity dispersing itself around foil inside my head. As I'm writing about it, I can feel it again. I had a few thought connection problems at the time too, but all seems OK now.
I could have come off a lot worse and I know people have experienced much worse and are living with all sorts of brain injuries; I can only understand to a limited extent how frightening it is.
This is some music I wrote to try to explain my experience.
